Pitts Cottage

The Friends became involved with 'Pitts' cottage in the late 1980's, when Wolverhampton Council offered it to the Museum.  At that time, the Museum was involved with major projects and so they asked the Friends to take on the rebuild and future management of the cottage on it's behalf.  This we happily agreed to, providing finance and labour in it's removal and rebuild.
In 1992 the Earl of Dudley and members of the Pitt family (who lived in the cottage until 1969) opened the cottage to the public.  Since then it has been the flagship of the friends activities on the site with volunteers opening it to the public every day of the week as well as maintaining our other activities.
